New Snow and Ground Scans
While modern texture libraries have made it easier than ever to achieve photorealism, it’s still hard to find grounds that tile seamlessly. That’s why our aim has been to scan grounds with lots of variety but still tile seamlessly.
In this new release you’ll find:
64 new ground scans total, including…
Wood chip, rocky/gravel and asphalt grounds
Up to 8K resolution
3x3m scans with accurate PBR maps and real displacement maps
Ground scans from around the world
Rather than pad the library with easy-to-find scans, we aimed at variety. So, using a workforce of photographers in multiple continents, we captured a breadth of seasons and biomes.
Snow scans with unprecedented detail and accuracy
Snow is typically difficult to scan because light can pass through it, causing soft or lumpy results. Which is why up until recently most snow textures were created procedurally. To fix this, we developed in-house tools that solve for light pass-through, ensuring detail and accuracy.
High quality ground textures that meet the Poliigon gold standard
We set a high bar for quality to make your job easier. By standardizing texture brightness, PBR values and displacement strengths, you can swap out textures without needing to make adjustments to your shaders.
They’re also compatible with the material converter, so you can load them into whichever software you're using.
Offering up to 8K resolution, these scans allow you to use them in the background of your project or zoomed right into the foreground, with ample detail to maintain photorealism. Pair that with standardized PBR maps and the multitude of texture varieties, and you’ll have the flexibility to create almost any environment you want.
